Resa went back down the dining room. Most of the group had already cleared their dishes, but her brother was still sitting there, sipping coffee and reading yesterday’s paper. He looked up when she came into the room, and she guessed from the look on her face that she probably looked worse than before.Total word count: 4,119
"OK," she said. "I'll go to the doctor."
Zach just nodded. "OK. I'm sorry. I was just worried."
Resa slumped into a chair and put her head down on the table. "I know," she said. Just another week or two, Jake54—her Jacob—had said on the computer last night. Just another week or two, she thought over and over as the group prepared to leave for the day. Just another week or two.
Comments: It can be hard for me to get started and decide what scenes to write, but it's easier once I make that decision and get going. Also, I know I'm writing a lot of crap, but I'm also surprised that so far, I've managed to find an excerpt for both days that I'm happy to put up on this blog/the NaNo site without editing it at all. That makes me feel really good -- like this isn't a complete waste of time!
I'm going out of town this weekend, but my laptop is coming with me! I'll be busy during the day, but the evenings won't be too bad, so I think I'll still have time to write.
