Progress report #3

Word count for today: 2,164

Time: 70 minutes (Yeah!)

Excerpt:

“That’s why I don’t think it’s wrong,” Audrey said quietly.

“No. It’s wrong,” Ambrose said. “I’m sure it’s wrong. But Robert never told me what, again, should have been obvious, which is that if you make a big sacrifice, by choosing to do something wrong, you can get an equally big reward. That’s just common sense, right?”

“Maybe Robert’s never found that out for himself,” Audrey suggested.

“Maybe,” Ambrose said, “but I bet he has.”

“Why?” Audrey said.

“Because he’s tried so hard to steer me away from it,” Ambrose said.

Comments: I was worried today because I sat down earlier but felt too sick to my stomach to write (especially since I wasn't sure what scenes I was going to be doing today). I think this was actually a good thing because it gave me extra time to contemplate what I should write, and then I knocked the whole thing out really fast. I'm also happy with where the story is going in terms of characterization. I know will have to go back in and add more about the setting during the editing process, but I feel like I'm starting to know my main protagonist a little better, and that's good.

Anyway, I won't worry as much in the future if I don't get the writing done early in the day -- especially if I know I'll have 60 minutes or so to do some serious writing later that day.
